Fujian Metallurgical Industry Design Institute Co., Ltd（FMIDI）has a long history which can trace back to 1958, when Fujian Metallurgical Industry Design Institute , one of FMIDI’s predecessors was founded in Fuzhou. In 2017,  Fujian Metallurgical Industry Design Institute and Fujian Metallurgical Industry Research Institute were restructured and reformed into a new high-tech enterprise, as introduced in the first place, Fujian Metallurgical Industry Design Institute Co., Ltd. FMIDI is professional in consultation and design of projects, it provides a scope of serves including engineering consultation, engineering investigation, engineering design, project supervision, engineering cost consultation, bidding agent, engineering whole process consultation, safety assessment, environmental impact assessment, energy conservation assessment, environmental monitoring and governance, industrial safety digital services etc., covering a wide range across metallurgical, architectural material, architectural (both industrial and civilian) and many other industries. The institute has won over 30 prizes at national, provincial or ministerial level, proving that it has reached the domestic advanced level in business. As the superior unit of Fujian Metallurgical Products Quality Inspection Station Co., Ltd and Physical and Chemical Testing Committe of Fujian Metal Society, FMIDI is one of the first institutes to be certificated as ‘Whole Process Engineering Consultation Pilot Enterprise’ and ‘Pronvincial Industrial Energy Conservation and Green Development Assessment Center’ in Fujian. It also won the prize of ‘Technological Little Giant Enterprise of Fujian’ in June 2018.

Currently, the Institute holds qualifications in various fields, including Class A certification for architectural engineering design and engineering supervision, engineering consultation, metallurgical industry design, building materials industry design, substation engineering design, geotechnical engineering survey, safety evaluation, environmental impact assessment, engineering measurement, special inspection of construction engineering quality, pressure pipeline design, geological disaster management engineering design, and assessment. The institute has been awarded the 'National High-Tech Enterprise' certificate, obtained ISO9001 Quality System Certification, and has received honorary titles such as the 'Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology Expert Workstation' and the 'Fujian Provincial Society for Innovation Driven Service Station.'
